Artists from the Haus der Diakonie have applied for the Lothar Späth Prize for artists with intellectual disabilities.
The award ceremony took place on June 22nd in the Wehr town hall.
Included in the Program: An inclusive dance performance developed at the Haus der Diakonie under the artistic direction of Dr. Alexandr Azarkevitch, along with vocal performances by our inclusive street choir, led by Luise Martin-Ruffing.
The world-famous violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter presented the prizes together with Michael Thater, the mayor of Wehr. Heidrun Meyer from the Haus der Diakonie Wehr-Öflingen received a prize for her competition entry. We are very proud of her!
The “Lothar Späth Prize” is the most important international competition for visual arts in the German-speaking world for artists with cognitive impairments.
The competition takes place every two years in Wehr.
